The Caroline County Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor the third annual “Bicycling for Safe Communities” event on Saturday, May 17, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Town of Port Royal.

The event, which is supported by various safety organizations, exists to promote safety awareness in communities throughout the County. Past events were held in the Town of Bowling Green and the Campbell’s Creek subdivision near Ladysmith.

“Bicycling for Safe Communities” is a family event and presents an opportunity to ride a scenic route to Port Royal while promoting safety. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Helmets are available on a first come, first served basis. For more information, please contact Parks & Rec at 633-7277.
