- February 2 -Polar Bear Plunge, Lake Caroline Lodge, Lake Caroline. Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church is seeking participants for their annual Fundraiser; "Polar Bear Plunge". Beginning at 10:00 in the Lake Caroline Lodge, registered members will be judged in a Costume Contest. Light refreshments will be served. More than 100 athletes from Fredericksburg and the counties of King George, Spotsylvania, Caroline, Stafford, Prince William, Fauquier, Loudoun and Fairfax are expected in swimming and swimming skills competitions. Special Olympics is a year-round international program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. - May 9, 2008 - Candlelight Tour of "Stonewall" Jackson's Final Evening The program will be held at the Stonewall Jackson Shrine where the general died. The structure contains Jackson's death bed, blanket, and the same clock that ticked away his last moments. One hour program led by historian Frank O'Reilly will begin at 8:00. The Jackson Shrine is located on Route 606, about 15 miles south of Fredericksburg - take Exit 118 east.

- June 22 (Tentative) – Caroline County Animal Control Adopt a Pet-a-Thon - 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The 2008 Adopt a Pet-a-Thon will tentatively be held June 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Caroline County Animal Shelter located at 14080 Devil’s Three Jump Road Milford, VA 22580. This event features shelter animals looking for homes, free food, raffles, and giveaways. The purpose of this event is to help the shelter animals find loving responsible homes, and also to educate the public about animal control. To qualify to adopt you must reside in Caroline County or a county which borders Caroline. If the animal is already spayed or neutered this does not apply. Adoption fees apply. This is a free event.
