The Treasurer, Elizabeth B. Curran and Commissioner of the Revenue, Sharon W. Carter feel the new Caroline County DMV Select is a real opportunity to provide a vital service for the citizens of Caroline County.

The Treasurer and the Commissioner, with the blessings of the Caroline Board of Supervisors, entered into an agreement with the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to establish an Automated License Agency of the Department of Motor Vehicles in Caroline County.

Payment for DMV Services

License agents are contractors that conduct vehicle-related transactions and provide an alternative to DMV's full service customer service centers, (CSCs). DMV currently has 32 license agents in rural areas of the state. Like existing agents, Caroline County will have online access to DMV allowing our offices to update customer records immediately as well as issue decals.

DMV Licensing Agents are not authorized to issue or process applications for driver's license, commercial driver's licenses, temporary driver's permits, learner's permits, motorcycle learner's permits or special identification cards.
