Holidays



All full-time salaried employees are entitled to twelve paid holidays per year. The county observes the following days as paid holidays.

The Board of Supervisors approved the Governor's holiday schedule for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years for County employees. County offices will close at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 21st and remain closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd for Thanksgiving. For the Christmas holiday, offices will be closed on Monday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th. County offices will also be closed on Monday, December 31st and Tuesday, January 1st in observance of the New Year.

The Board wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.



Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday, the holiday will be observed on the preceeding Friday for employees entitled to such holidays. Whenever a holiday falls on Sunday, the holiday will be observed the following Monday.

Employees are granted time off with pay for any days designated as holidays by the Board of Supervisors. Essential employees may be required to work during holidays when County Offices are closed. Employees who are required to work during holidays when offices are closed will be given an equivalent amount of compensatory time off at a time mutually agreeable to the employee and the supervisor. If by working these hours during a holiday, the employee exceeds the standard forty (40) hour workweek, he or she will be given compensatory time off equivalent to 1 1/2 times the excess of 40 hours.
