Employees are granted time off with pay for any days designated as holidays by the Board of Supervisors. Essential employees may be required to work during holidays when County Offices are closed. Employees who are required to work during holidays when offices are closed will be given an equivalent amount of compensatory time off at a time mutually agreeable to the employee and the supervisor. If by working these hours during a holiday, the employee exceeds the standard forty (40) hour workweek, he or she will be given compensatory time off equivalent to 1 1/2 times the excess of 40 hours.
