- Public Works Superintendent Joey Schiebel has been reassigned by County Administrator Percy Ashcraft to the position of Superintendent in the Utilities Department effective immediately. Joey will work to stabilize the department in anticipation of a new director being hired this spring. As a result of Joey’s reassignment, the superintendent’s position in Public Works is now vacant and will be advertised for in the coming days.

Relay for Life - Caroline County Cancer Busters
SUBJECT: Relay for Life – A Team Event to Fight Cancer
DATE: January 25, 2008
Last year Caroline County employees participated in Caroline County’s 7th Relay for Life, a team event to fight cancer, sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
For those of you who do not know about this event it goes like this: Relay for Life is from Friday night starting at 7:00 p.m., May 30, 2008, until 7:00 a.m., Saturday morning, May 31, 2008, located at the Caroline High School football field. It is an event to raise funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer in the community. It is also a celebration of life honoring cancer survivors. While the relay is going on, a community party atmosphere is created by team members camping out, enjoying entertainment, food, games and camaraderie.
Each team member is required to pay a $10.00 registration fee, made payable to the American Cancer Society, and submitted to the team captain as this donation will provide each member with a Relay for Life tee shirt. Please contact me to obtain the registration form if you would like to be a team member.
Each team member is asked to raise a minimum of $100 from donors prior to the event. I will provide packets to employees who are interested in participating. If you choose not be participate, please make a donation to one of the team members.
In this day and age, we are personally touched in some way by cancer. Whether a spouse, child, parent, relative or friend, each of us have suffered a loss to this disease. In an effort to support the fight against cancer I am asking all employees to represent Caroline County Government by participating in the Relay for Life.
