Caroline County Department of Fire and Rescue currently has full time openings for the position of Medic/Firefighter. Responsible for emergency response, fire suppression, rescue, emergency life support, salvage, fire prevention, and a variety of other assigned duties associated with fire and rescue. Minimum Qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, current certification as a VA EMT-I or EMT-P, VA Firefighter II, VA Hazardous Materials Operations, Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC-III), Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent (within first year of employment), Pediatric Advance Life Support or equivalent , VA Basic Pump Operator (within first year of employment), VA Rural Water Supply (within first year of employment), ICS 700, ICS 800, ICS 100, ICS 200, and a valid Virginia Driver’s License. Experience as a volunteer or career medic or firefighter is desirable.
