July 4, 2005- Deborah writes: Hello again! My husband and I live on EVA Drive in Port Royal,on the Port Tobago Bay area of the Rappahannock River. On July 3, 05 around 1:00PM, nature treated us to a beautful sight as we observed a pair of eagles soaring over the water for about five minutes. We noticed a third bird, (hawk) flying over the water in the direction of where we have seen eagles nesting. Immediately, one of the eagles separated from the "pair" and flew rapidly as it chased the hawk. Today is July 4th and again while gazing at the still water from our backyard, I spotted a pair flying gracefully over the water. **I am going to keep a camera ready from now on so that I may share my sightings with others, especially my science students in Maryland when school begins. Port Royal, VA can proudly claim its beautiful eagles!
