Re: Ribbon Cutting for Four Businesses in Ladysmith
Date: October 4, 2007
Percy Ashcraft, County Administrator
Madison District Supervisor, Wayne Acors and other government and business leaders welcomed four businesses to Caroline County today with Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies in Ladysmith.
Celebrated on their openings were Pizazz Hair Studio, The Evan Stout Light Industrial Building and two of the business renters of the Stout Building, Clem’s Tire and Auto, LLC, and D.J. Precision Rod Works. All the businesses are located in the Ladysmith Business Park.
Along with Supervisor Acors was Commissioner of Revenue, Sharon Carter and some of her staff, County Staff, and Board members of the Caroline Chamber of Commerce including L.J. Moyer of Century 21 Classic and Ileane DeLoach of Ace Kreatives. Supervisor Acors stated that the many new business investments in Ladysmith and Caroline County continued to show that businesses were confident to invest in Caroline and that Caroline enjoyed a growing reputation as a place to be to start a business.
Of the new firms in the Ladysmith Business Park, the Evan Stout Light Industrial Building only recently opened and both tenants took up space in September. Clem’s Tire and Auto, owned by Mr. Clem Westfall has been in operation for only two weeks, while Mr. D.J. Panknin’s, D.J. Precision Rod Works has been in operation only slightly longer. One space in the Evan Stout building remains available to be rented.
Pizazz Hair Studio is under the new management of Chris Penny. Pizazz was doing a brisk business right up to the time of the Ribbon Cutting. After the ceremony chairs were again filled with customers.
The Ladysmith Business Park ribbon cuttings took place a week after a similar ceremony only a mile away on Green Road for ASI, an architectural concrete manufacturer. The mix of firms, small commercial and heavy industry, means a varied and healthy Caroline economy.
