All of our programs have set deadlines to allow us ample time to plan. Please help us by registering by the deadline. Late registrations are accepted only when there are openings. We reserve the right to cancel a program if numbers are not sufficient. We reserve the right to establish minimum and maximum enrollments for programs. COMMUNITY OUTREACH |
| In order for us to be successful in making this a healthier and more delightful Community, we believe it is essential that we take a collaborative approach. This approach consist of you assisting the department in promoting and encouraging others to take advantage of the services that are provided on this calendar. Our department, especially in the youth activities relies heavy on volunteers. This is for the purpose of: making a friendlier environment; assisting in the growth and development of the children of this community; displaying benevolence. We welcome all volunteer help in assisting with our growing programs. If you have special skills in fitness, coaching, officiating, health & wellness, dance, etc. that you would like to share, please call the Department of Parks & Recreation at (804) 633-7277. |

These services were organized with careful consideration given towards the admission fees. It is our desire that each individual will have many opportunities to participate in programs organized by the Department of Parks and Recreation. |

| Our department shares facilities with the public schools and must cancel programs when facilities are not available. Locations, dates and times of programs may sometimes change to avoid conflicts with scheduled school events. Youth Football League
 Description: Youth development and instructional league. Games are played on Saturdays and traveling will be required for competition except for flag league.****Weight Limit Requirements Per Division, Except Flag**** Age Divisions: 5-6 (flag); 7 & 8 (PeeWee Tackle) 65 lbs for 7 yrs old and 65 lbs for 8 yrs old; 8-10 (JV tackle) 135 lbs max; 11-13 (Varsity tackle) 155 lbs Max Date: Begins early August 2013 Cost: $75 per child (for tackle) $35 per child (for flag div) Location: Caroline Rec. Football Camp
For: ages 8-13 Date: June 10 – 13, 2013 (Mon – Thur) Time: 6:00 til 7:30 pm Location: Caroline Rec Park Cost: $25 per child/$15 for those registered for our football league. Deadline: 5/30/13 |
All-Sports Camp  Description: The camp is designed to give boys and girls the opportunity to develop self esteem, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and confidence, in the following sports: basketball, kickball, and t-ball; all in one week. Ages: 3 – 5 yrs. old |
Parent and ME T-Tot Ball  Description: Parent and Me” is an introductory t-ball clinic for toddlers that requires parental support in the development and teaching of the game. This program is a great opportunity for toddlers to gain the understanding and fundamentals of t-ball. Participants will be taught the basics of hitting, throwing, catching, and fielding through fun filled drills. You and your child will participate in fun, age appropriate motor and socialization skills. Ages: 2 ½-4 yrs. old (boys and girls) ***Attire: Glove, running shoes, light color clothing*** |
British Challenger Soccer Camp  Description: Get lessons from some of the best in the nation! This camp will be conducted by college players from Great Britain. Many soccer drills and learning activities appropriate for beginner, intermediate, and advance players. Ages: 3-13 |
Wide World of Sports Description: This special event offers and environment to celebrate the young athletes that participated in the parks and recreation basketball, soccer, and football programs. Athletes not only will be acknowledged but will also participate in such competition as: punt, pass and kick, free throw, softball throw, and soccer challenge events. Come and enjoy and evening of fun and recognition. Athletes are asked to wear a sports jersey. Ages: 4-17 |
Punt, Pass, Kick Description: PP&K offers separate competition for boys and girls with winners being selected out of each group based on total distance of their punts, passes, and kicks. A participant's final score is the combined total of the three events (Punt, Pass, and Kick).

Hershey's Track & Field Event  Description: Compete against other great track athletes in the county in various running and field events. If you like to run, jump or throw, you’re definitely going to find this as an exciting event to be part of. As you’re deciding your events for competition, the most important thing is to choose an event or events that you really enjoy. It doesn’t matter if you’re not faster than a bolt of lightning right now. If you’re serious about training for your events), you’ll eventually get some spark in your step. Ages: 9-14 |
After School Tennis for Kids  Description: Need a little recreation after school? This is the perfect way to conclude your day; be inspired at the tennis courts and learn to play and enjoy tennis in the not so hot weather. Learn the basic strokes, proper footwork, serves, and more.... Gather yourself and a friend and join the fun. Summer Tennis Clinics Participants will learn the fundamentals of each stroke of the game (forehand, backhand, volley, overhead, and serve) & learn how to keep score. Tennis Tournament Description: This will be a one day fun tournament designed for beginners and intermediate level players. Players can participate in the doubles or singles competition. Fall Soccer League  Description: This league is designed to enhance social development, teach and improve the various skills and knowledge pertaining to the game of soccer in a fun recreational atmosphere. Games will be scheduled for Saturday mornings. Practice will be held once a week before games begin. Practice day and time will be determined by the coach. Uniforms will be issued out by the department all other equipment will have to be provided by parents. Begins: Late August 2013 |
Rappahannock River Enrichment Soccer Clinic (R.R.E.S.C.)  Description: A fantastic first soccer experience for young children! It is a fun introduction to the sport through a series of exciting, stimulating soccer games in a safe, enjoyable environment. Participant will gain knowledge of the game, be taught various skills, and challenged in fun competition. Begins: June 25, 2013 |
Open Gym Basketball
 Description: Come out and enjoy an evening of fun basketball while meeting new friends after a long day of work. Score will be kept and teams will be formed for competition on each evening. For: Ages 18 and up - Maximum number of players 20 Fee: $2 Per Person Begins: November 9 & 16; December 7 & 14 (Fridays) Time: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.. Location: Caroline Community Center Gym |
Holiday Hot Shot Basketball Tournament for Adults
Description: Can’t move as well but can still shoot that jumper; this is the tournament for you. This is a bracket Hot Shot tournament for all adults. Participants will be paired up by drawing and play a tournament style competition with a 1 in a half minute running clock. Begins: Friday, December 6, 2013 Ages: 18 and up Time: Games held 6:00-7:00 p.m. Fee: $8.00 per person Location: Caroline Community Services Center Gymnasium Deadline: Friday, November 29, 2013 |
Boys & Girls' Summer Basketball League

Teenage Summer Girls' Basket Ball League Description: This league is organized to prep players for the upcoming high school try-outs. Participants will play organized games once a week for a month. This league is not design for beginners. Begins: Monday, August 5,12,19,26, 2013 |
Youth Basketball Instructional Camps
Description: Camps are designed to teach rules and basic fundamentals through team and individual drills as well as scrimmages. All levels stress teamwork, sportsmanship and fun. The camp will focus on shooting, dribbling and basic defenses, offenses, and comprehension of the game. One-on-One Pee Wee Basketball Camp Date: July 8-11 (Mon – Thur) Time: 6:00 til 7:30 pm Cost: $35 per child Age: 4-6 yr olds Location: Caroline Community Center gym (basketballs can be lowered to 8 feet)

Co-ed Volleyball League
 Description: “Spike” out your frustration from a busy day of work by participating in this low competitive adult volleyball tournament. Come Out and represent your company while promoting excellence and pride. Participants are guaranteed at least two matches. All businesses & companies welcome. Holiday's Hot Shot Basketball (Bracket)
Description: You are invited to participate in the Hot Shot Tournament. Hot Shot is a basketball skills competition that involves shooting baskets from five "hot spots" marked on one half of a basketball court. This competition tests your speed, shooting, dribbling and rebounding ability within a series of one-minute time periods. Trophies will be awarded to 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th place winners. Co-ed Softball League
 Description: Bring your own co-ed softball team and swing away in this slow pitch league. Limited number of teams will be accepted for this league. Get your team and hurry out to register for this summer league. For Ages: Adults |
