All of our programs have set deadlines to allow us ample time to plan. Please help us by registering by the deadline.
Late registrations are accepted only when there are openings.
We reserve the right to cancel a program if numbers are not sufficient.

These services were organized with careful consideration given towards the admission fees. It is our desire that each individual will have many opportunities to participate in programs organized by the Department of Parks and Recreation.|

|Our department shares facilities with the public schools and must cancel programs when facilities are not available. Locations, dates and times of programs may sometimes change to avoid conflicts with scheduled school events. |SUMMER EXPLORATION DAY CAMP
Theme: "Sunshine KidZ"
Description: Enjoy arts and crafts, fun sport competitions, organized games, thematic special events, and weekly field trips at this enrichment camp.

Teens F.I.E.R.C.E. About Skills Camp
Description: This program stimulates Fun, Initiative, Energy, Readiness, Commitment, & Eagerness for skills. If you desire to develop these life skills get F.I.E.R.C.E. about Registering now. This program will offer a wide variety of activities for teens in a safe, friendly and supervised environment. Activities will include sports, games, music, trips and just hanging out with your friends. Participants will develop and refine skills in areas such as leadership, teamwork and socializaiton skills.

|D.I.V.A.S. with Promise (Devoted Individuals Valuing Another & Self)
Description: Girls' mentoring program that provides leadership, build self-esteem, etiquette, and opportunities for community outreach
For: Girls in grades 6 - 12th
Meetings Days & Time: 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

B.A.L.M. (Becoming a Leading Man): (Boys Mentoring Program)
For grades 3rd - 5th
Description: Our young males are faced with challenges of all kinds on a daily basis, but through mentoring we hope they will make productive choices, build healthy relationships, give back to their community, resolve conflict and become leading males. Participants will also be taken occasionally on field trips. your child will meet one evening a the Community Services Center once a month during the school year from 6:00-8:00 pm; beginning October 15th.
*A fee will be required for field trips.

Learn the fundamental techniques and the history of isshinryu karate, self-defense, discipline, as well as, stretching exercises. Upon successful completion of this course, students will demonstrate basic hand and kicking techniques.
Fee: $35.00 p/p - $45 after deadline (one week prior to starting date)

Crochet & Knitting Class
Description: Participant will have the opportunity to learn surprising things about hooks, yarn, read basic patterns and diagrams, make samples of stitch patterns and learn to write simple instructions for personal designs.
Knitting - Pair of short needles preferably wood or bamboo (sizes 6, 7, or 8); Skein of smooth worsted weight yarn; pair of scissors; yarn needle
Description:The 6-8 hour Basic Hunter Education Course covers material on hunting safety, principles of conservation, and sportsmanship. This course is usually 6-8 hours in length but students are required to complete the self-study prior to class. Although students do NOT have to prove completion of self-study, the final exam will include material covered in the self-study portion. More information on the 6-8 hour course can be found here.

There is usually no charge for these classes, which are required for 12- to 15-year-old license buyers, as well as for anyone purchasing a hunting license for the first time.

Description: Experience an authentic collection of items from regional Native Americans, Colonial times, Civil War history, and Presidential memorabilia - all in Historic Port Royal. Sidney E. King Arts Center, Bowling Green
Description: Sidney E. King murals and paintings belonging to the National Park Service. These paintings were commissioned by the National Park Service approximately 30 years ago. In addition to displaying Mr. Kings works the Bowling Green Arts Commission promotes the arts by selling art work by local artists and scheduling classes for all age groups. The Caroline Historical Society has prepared extensive exhibits of local historical significance.

Register wit the Parks and Rec Department to participate in this effort to encourage fitness, eliminate inactivity, and maintaining healthy bodies. More information will be provided at the orientation of your child's program.

Former Diversified Learning Center (Ladysmith) -
Description: Zumba is a high energy cardio workout that incorporates Latin and International dance styles that will have you moving and grooving the entire hour. The choreography is simple and easy to follow; there are only 4 steps that will repeat. Participants typically burn between 400-800 calories in a one hour Zumba fitness class. The workout targets the glutes, legs, arms, abdominals, and most importantly, the heart.
