Caroline County was notified recently that it has won a 2007 "Excellent" Award from the Southern Economic Development Council for its Industrial marketing piece: "Opportunity" in the Literature and Promotion Awards competition held in Little Rock Arkansas in November.
The "Opportunity" brochure is a general purpose community profile for industrial prospects. "Opportunity" also contains Virginia's first virtual building on CD created by a locality in the Commonwealth. Caroline's virtual building tour can also be experienced by visiting the economic development page on Caroline County's web site, www.visitcaroline.com.
The Southern Economic Development Council is the professional association for economic development professionals throughout the South: 17 states and the District of Columbia.
Of the several categories possible to receive recognition, only two Virginia communities won recognition for marketing or informational publications: Caroline County for "Opportunity" and the Greater Richmond Partnership for a business directory.
Caroline County has won six marketing awards in the last seven years, four of those have been in competitions sponsored by the Southern Economic Development Council.
